The Oceanic was designed primarily for the Liverpool to New York passenger service, setting sail on her maiden voyage in July of the same year. The launch event was a grand spectacle, with thousands gathering to witness the momentous occasion. As the bottle of champagne smashed against the hull, releasing a cascade of sparkling liquid, the Oceanic began her journey from the water, gliding effortlessly into the Irish Sea.
