The fish is also referred to by various other names, including Kyphosus vaigiensis, Pimelepterus marciac, and Pimelettero carini. This illustration was created in 1837 as part of Antoine Laurent de Jussieu's Dizionario delle Scienze Naturali, or Dictionary of Natural Science, published in Florence, Italy.
