The image, drawn and engraved by Andrea Bernieri after Francois Solvyns, is taken from Giulio Ferrario's Ancient and Modern Costumes of all the Peoples of the World, published in Florence, Italy, in 1844. The Jhulan Yatra is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated in honor of Lord Krishna, where images of the deity are carried in procession on a swing. Balak dancers, young boys dressed as Krishna, are an integral part of this celebration.
