This evocative photograph captures the historic Coach & Horses Pub, located in the heart of Minories, London. Established in the late 18th or early 19th century, the Coach & Horses was once a popular watering hole for locals and travelers passing through the bustling streets of East London. The facade of the pub, as depicted in this image, exudes a sense of history and charm with its red brick exterior, ornate woodwork, and large, arched windows. The name of the pub, "Coach & Horses," is prominently displayed above the entrance, a nod to the days when horse-drawn carriages stopped here for a rest and refreshment. Sadly, this beloved pub, located at 32 Minories, EC3N 1JJ, was no longer in operation as of July 2018. The back of this print reveals that it had been demolished, a loss to the community and to London's rich history. The Coach & Horses was once owned by the Charrington and Company Limited, a well-known brewery in the area. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the many pubs that have once graced the streets of London, adding to the city's unique character and sense of history. The Coach & Horses may no longer exist, but its memory lives on through images like this one.
