The pub, which once stood at 276-278 Old Street, EC1V 8AW, was a cherished local institution for over eighty years. The back of this beautifully preserved print reveals the pub's trading record, detailing its operation from 1934 to 1961. The Crown & Sceptre was a beloved gathering place for the community, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for locals to socialize, enjoy a pint, and share stories. The pub's rich history is further emphasized by its association with Hoare & Company Limited, a well-known name in the London brewing industry. Unfortunately, as of July 2018, the Crown & Sceptre Public House was no longer in existence. Demolition had taken place, leaving behind only memories and this precious photograph as reminders of the pub's storied past.
