This evocative photograph captures the facade of the Duke of Richmond pub, located in the heart of Earls Court, London. The red brick building, adorned with ornate details and intricate carvings, once stood as a proud and prominent establishment in the vibrant neighborhood. The pub, which was owned by the Charrington and Company Limited, was a beloved local watering hole for many years. The image, taken from the left side, showcases the pub's grand entrance, complete with ornate glass windows and a beautifully designed sign bearing the Duke of Richmond's crest. The pub's name, written in bold letters, invites passersby to enter and enjoy a pint or two. Unfortunately, as of July 2018, the Duke of Richmond pub, like so many other historic London buildings, was no more. Demolished to make way for new developments, the loss of this pub is a reminder of the ever-changing landscape of the city. The back of the print, available upon request, bears the address of the pub, SW5 9QG, a poignant reminder of what once was.
