This evocative photograph captures the corner view of the London & Brighton PH, a cherished public house located in the vibrant and diverse area of Peckham, London. The image showcases the classic red brick facade of the pub, adorned with ornate signage bearing the familiar letters "L&B" and the iconic image of a horse and cart. The pub, a beloved watering hole and community hub, is nestled among the bustling streets of Peckham, adding to the area's rich tapestry of history and tradition. The London & Brighton PH, a fixture in the Peckham community for many years, was a popular gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The pub, which was part of the Hoare & Company Limited, offered a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a cozy interior and a well-stocked bar. The pub's back wall, visible on the reverse side of the print (available upon request), bears the address "London & Brighton, Peckham, London SE15 2ND," and the notation "As of July 2018. Demolished, replaced by flats." Sadly, this historic pub, like so many others, was eventually demolished to make way for new development. This photograph is a poignant reminder of the character and charm of the London & Brighton PH and the role it played in the lives of those who frequented it.
