This evocative photograph captures the historic Sheffield Arms pub in Newhaven, Sussex, as it looked prior to its transformation in July 2018. The image, taken from the left side, showcases the traditional brick facade of the pub with its distinctive signage and ornate detailing. The Sheffield Arms, a beloved local establishment, was a quintessential public house that welcomed patrons with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Located in the heart of Newhaven, a charming coastal town in Sussex, the Sheffield Arms was a popular gathering place for locals and travelers alike. The pub's rich history is reflected in its classic design, which features a combination of red and white brickwork, ornate woodwork, and intricate tilework. The Sheffield Arms was not only a pub but also a community hub, where friends and neighbors would meet to share stories, enjoy a pint of locally brewed ale, or simply unwind after a long day. Sadly, by July 2018, the Sheffield Arms had been rebranded as The Harbourside and had become a branch of a major retail company.
