EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time with this vintage photograph of the Star PH in Ewell, Surrey, taken in the 1960s. The image captures the traditional English pub in all its glory, with its red brick facade, quaint signage, and inviting frontage. The Star PH, located at KT17 1SA, was once a popular watering hole in the heart of this historic town. The pub, which was part of the Overton Brewery (not the company), had a rich history and was known by various names over the decades, including After Hours, Pipps, Marbles, and the Loose Box. In the 1960s, it was still going strong and open for business. However, by July 2018, the Star PH had closed its doors and was not expected to reopen in its previous guise. This photograph is a charming reminder of a bygone era, when pubs were the heart of the community, and a visit to the local watering hole was a social occasion. The Star PH in Ewell, Surrey, is a testament to the enduring charm of traditional English pubs and the memories they evoke.
