Both species are native to Asia and are classified as vulnerable in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. The Red Panda, with its distinctive red fur and raccoon-like features, is found in the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. Despite its name, it is not closely related to the giant panda but is instead a member of the raccoon family.
