John Sheepshanks (circa 1909): A Portrait of the Bishop of Norwich John Sheepshanks (1847-1926), an esteemed clergyman, is depicted in this striking photograph taken around 1909. At the time, he held the prestigious position of Bishop of Norwich, a role he had assumed just a few years prior in 1907. Bishop Sheepshanks' long, flowing white beard and serious expression convey a sense of wisdom and authority befitting his ecclesiastical rank. His attire, consisting of a long robe and mitre, further emphasizes his religious status.
