VISUAL DESCRIPTION
This is a black and white photograph of a Hawker Demon biplane, an aircraft from the interwar period. The Demon is a two-seat fighter variant of the Hawker Hart light bomber, equipped with a Rolls-Royce Kestrel engine. In this image, the aircraft is captured in flight, showcasing its upper and lower wings with distinct staggered arrangement and open cockpit design. The registration number "K2907" can be seen on the rear fuselage just before the tailfin. This particular model was used by several fighter squadrons of both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and Auxiliary Air Force during its service years following World War I until 1934, as noted in the caption below which reads: "AIR DEFENCE - A Hawker Demon (twoseater fighter Rolls-Royce Kestrel). Several Fighter Squadrons of the R. A. F. and of the Auxiliary Air force are armed with this machine, which is the first British two-seater fighter since the war 1914-18. "
