VISUAL DESCRIPTION
The image takes us back to July 9-20, 1920, during the British Aircraft Aero Exhibition at Olympia. It features three different models: The Bristol Fighter Type F2 with a powerful 300 h.p Hispano engine priced at $800; Armstrong Whitworth F.K.8 powered by a less potent but reliable 160 h.p Beardmore engine costing $500; and De Havilland Two-Seater D.H.9 equipped with a Siddeley Puma engine similar to that in Image 1's Bristol Fighter but available for $800 here. These prices reflect an era when war-surplus aircraft were sold off cheaply to civilians due to excess stock—evidence of how industries adapt post-conflict periods.
