VISUAL DESCRIPTION
This vintage advertisement from 1936 celebrates the achievements of aircraft equipped with Palmer products in the prestigious King's Cup air race. The ad highlights Captain Percival's Mew Gull as achieving the fastest time and Flight Lieutenant T. Rose's Miles Hawk securing second place, both using Palmer-equipped planes. It also boasts about a clean sweep in 1935 with first, second, and third places being taken by 'Miles' Planes', again all fitted with Palmer gear. Below this triumphant announcement is a list of what Palmer Aero Products include: high and medium pressure tires, wheels (including amphibian craft specialized ones), streamlined tire and wheel units, electrically-conductive tail tires, brakes and controls for pneumatic and hydraulic types, including dual control systems for training purposes. Demonstrations at Thames House by appointment are offered to showcase their leadership in aircraft landing wheels, tyres, and brakes—a testament to their reputation built since supplying British warplanes during World War I.
