Step back in time to the bustling streets of London in the early 1900s with this print of Regent Street. The scene is alive with activity as horse-drawn cabs and taxis make their way through the colorful striped awnings that line the street. The gas lampposts cast a warm glow over the scene, illuminating the historic Dickins and Jones Department Store on the right.
Opened in 1835, Dickins and Jones was a beloved fixture of Regent Street until it closed its doors for good in 2007. In this image from around 1909, we see shoppers coming and going from this iconic store, their arms laden with packages and parcels.
