EDITORS COMMENTS
This exquisite white metal mantel clock, named RNYC Fujiyama, showcases a captivating blend of maritime history and intricate design. Measuring 7ins. in diameter and 2ins. deep, the clock boasts a stunning blue enamel face with two flag logos belonging to the esteemed Royal Clyde and Royal Northern Yacht Club. The logos are separated by a rope twist surround, adding an authentic nautical touch. The clock's intriguing backstory is rooted in the late 19th century, when Fujiyama was a 160-ton steam yacht built by John Reid of Whiteinch, Glasgow in 1895. Commissioned by Andrew Coats of the renowned Paisley Thread dynasty, Fujiyama was a proud possession of the yachtsman, who was an esteemed member of both the Royal Clyde and Royal Northern Yacht Club, as evidenced by the burgees gracing the clock. The clock's movement is powered by BREVETE SGDG, a testament to its high-quality craftsmanship. The design also features a lifebelt, further emphasizing its maritime theme. This rare and beautiful timepiece not only serves as an accurate measure of time but also as a captivating conversation starter, transporting us back to a bygone era of elegance and opulence on the high seas.
