Administration Blow Horns Masque Minuet Plays Present Progress Riders Wives Oceanside

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step right up and prepare for an evening of captivating theatrical performances as Oceanside High School Masque Society presents four thought-provoking one-act plays. This cultural and educational progression, brought to you by the dedicated members of the Masque Society, will take place at the Jr. High School auditorium. The first act, "Riders to the Sea," by John Millington Synge, tells a poignant tale of the sea's relentless pull on the lives of a small Irish fishing community. In the second act, "When the Horns Blow," by Paul Osborn, the audience will be transported to the 1930s American South, where tradition and change collide in a heartwarming and humorous story. Next, "A New School for Wives," by Molière, offers a satirical look at the societal expectations and roles of women in 17th century France. Lastly, "A Minuet," by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, brings a touch of elegance and wit to the stage as it explores the complexities of love and relationships. The Masque Society, under the guidance of the school administration, has worked tirelessly to bring these works to life. The posters, featuring the masks of tragedy and comedy, represent the range of emotions and themes that will be explored during this unforgettable night of theatre. This presentation is proudly brought to you by the Works Progress Administration (WPA), a New Deal program designed to provide employment opportunities in the arts and humanities.
