Born into the noble House of Foix, Odet de Foix (dates unknown) gained a reputation for his military prowess and strategic acumen during the Italian Wars. During the Italian Wars, a series of conflicts fought primarily in Italy between 1494 and 1559, Odet de Lautrec served under the command of King Francis I of France. He played a significant role in several key battles, including the Battle of Marignano in 1515, where he led the French cavalry charge that turned the tide of the battle in favor of the French forces. Odet de Lautrec's military career was marked by his exceptional horsemanship and his ability to inspire loyalty and courage in his troops. He was also known for his daring exploits and his unyielding determination on the battlefield. In recognition of his services, King Francis I granted him the title of Marquis de Moras and the fief of Montlaur. Despite his military successes, Odet de Lautrec's life was cut short when he was killed in battle in 1528. His death was a significant loss for the French forces, and he was mourned by his comrades and the people of France.
