Poison Ivy (1), depicted on the left, is characterized by its glossy green leaves, which often grow in clusters of three. The plant's alternate, palmate leaves, with each leaflet having three lobes, are a common identifier. The plant's toxic properties are derived from urushiol, an oily resin that causes an allergic reaction when it comes into contact with human skin.
