Rudolf Samoilovich (1889-1945): A Russian Arctic Explorer's Unyielding Pursuit of Discovery Aboard the Icebreaker Krassin (circa 1930) In this evocative photograph, Russian Arctic explorer, Rudolf Samoilovich, stands confidently on the deck of the icebreaker Krassin, his gaze fixed on the vast expanse of ice before him.
