The newly established First Duma, Russia's first elected parliament, has just convened, bringing with it the hope of democratic reforms and an end to the oppressive rule of the Tsarist regime. But as this satirical cartoon depicts, the people's faith in the Duma's ability to bring about real change is met with skepticism and fear.
