The Skyraider, a legendary propeller-driven attack aircraft, is renowned for its versatility and durability, having served in various roles during the Korean War and Vietnam War. In this instance, the Skyraider was unfortunately involved in a mid-air collision with a P-51D Mustang, 44-72218. The exact cause of the collision is not documented, but the photograph captures the aftermath, with the Skyraider's wing segment missing and the Mustang appearing destroyed. Despite the collision, the skilled pilot of the Skyraider was able to land the aircraft safely, a testament to the robustness of this iconic aircraft. The P-51D, however, did not survive the incident.
