These extinct giants once roamed the Earth during the late Cretaceous period, around 76 to 73 million years ago. Torosaurus latus, the larger of the two depicted, is characterized by its distinctive frill, which extends far beyond the skull and is adorned with numerous horns. Its body is covered in bony plates and spikes, providing protection against predators.
