EDITORS COMMENTS
Capturing the Essence of Childhood Adventure: David Jackson, a spirited 10-year-old from West Kirby Sheshire, experiences an exhilarating moment as he dons a commando outfit at the Toy Fair. Modeled after the iconic action man commando toy, which earned the prestigious title of 'Toy of the Year' in 1966, this ensemble carries a price tag of 39 shillings. However, it was not just the attire that brought immense joy to young David's face; fate had something extraordinary in store for him. In an unexpected twist of destiny, David found himself standing beside two real-life action men - Sgt Major Harry Bush and Pvt Bob Thompson - both esteemed members of the renowned 1st Para Battalion at T. A. Oldham. Meeting these brave soldiers ignited an indescribable thrill within our young adventurer's heart. Pvt Thompson hails from Tintwhistle while wielding his B. A.
