The long-waited 15-seater mini-bus for Warwick School got a warm reception from pupils

The long-waited 15-seater mini-bus for Warwick School got a warm reception from pupils and staff when it was officailly handed over. Sporting a Warwick School crest on each door, the vehicle was driven past cheering pupils by Mr. K.G. Brockelhurst, chairman of the schools Transit Committee, who presented it to the headmaster, Mr. P.W. Martin. A committee of masters was set up nine months ago and their voluntary work has been instrumental in raising 1, 440 to pay for it. The committee will now run the bus on behalf of the governors.

Minibus Presentation Pupils Students Trips Warwick

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this nostalgic print from 1969, we witness the long-awaited arrival of a 15-seater mini-bus at Warwick School. The excitement and joy radiating from both pupils and staff is palpable as they warmly welcome this new addition to their school community. Adorned with the prestigious Warwick School crest on each door, the mini-bus symbolizes progress and growth for the institution. Mr. K. G. Brockelhurst, chairman of the schools Transit Committee, takes pride in driving past cheering students while presenting this prized possession to Mr. P. W. Martin, the headmaster. It is worth noting that a committee of dedicated masters had tirelessly worked together for nine months to raise an impressive sum of £1,440 to fund this acquisition through voluntary efforts. With its official handover complete, this committee will now take charge of managing and operating the bus on behalf of the governors. This development marks not only improved transportation options but also opens up exciting possibilities for educational trips and experiences beyond classroom walls. This snapshot captures a significant moment in time when Warwick School embraced modernity and enhanced opportunities for its students' growth outside traditional academic settings.
