Top readers at a Huddersfield school have gained medals
Top readers at a Huddersfield school have gained medals and certificates in a sponsored programme which has also earned them more than £ 1, 200-worth of books for their classrooms. Children at Our Lady of Lourdes RC School, Sheepridge, were challenged to read seven books during a seven-week period to gain a certificate, eight books to gain a silver medal and ten to gain a gold. The certificates and medals were presented by World Book Childcraft International, Pictured with the certificates and children from the school are Mr David Ramanauskas and head teacher Mr James Blaney. Certificates were gained by 108 children at the school, silver medals by 13 children and golds by 90 young readers. 11th May 1990
