Opening time! Kirklees Leisure Services senior entertainments officer Mr Graham Barraclough gives the go-ahead for the cutting of a giant ribbon wrapped around the new-look Holmfirth library, following an official opening the previous evening by the leader of Kirklees Council Clr John Harman. The ribbon-cutting follows eight months of refurbishment in the library building, in Huddersfield Road, and an extension which will house a new postcard museum. The library will be the first in Kirklees to offer a compact disc lending service. The opening day included demonstrations of the discs, childrens storytime sessions and art and craft workshop. 25th October 1986
