The memorial, located at the eastern exit of Ypres in Belgium, serves as a poignant tribute to the 54,000 British and Commonwealth soldiers who went missing on the battlefields of the Ypres Salient during World War One. As they strike a pose for eternity, these skilled builders symbolize not only their craftsmanship but also their deep respect for those fallen heroes.
