The text reads " PLAYERs // NO. 3 // Virginia // Cigarettes // John Player & Sons // Nottingham". On the reverse is a support to allow the card to stand upright and a hanging loop. There is a label which reads " MARDONS // WINDOW NOVELTIES // EMBOSSED SHOWCARDS / &C, &C // VARNISHERS // GELATINERS & FRAME MAKERS // BRISTOL & LONDON.". There is a hand-written note which dates the card to " 1921"
