Weights Cigarettes, 1921
Players Weights rectangular, convex counter card. The background is cream with a blue, dentil edged border. In the centre is a large settee in orange and green, with a large blue cushion with an embroidery of a bird and large tassels at each corner. A man in evening dress is sitting on the settee reading a book. In the to left hand corner is a packet of Weights cigarettes. The text reads " PLAYERs WEIGHTS // CIGARETTES // John Player & Sons, Nottingham". On the reverse a support to allow the card to stand upright and a hanging loop. There is a rubber stamp which reads " JOHN PLAYER & SONS // STORES ADVERTISING // GARDEN ST." and a hand-written note which gives the maker as " Ms & HALL"
