Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein. Artwork of Albert Einstein (1879- 1955), German-Swiss-US physicist. Einstein is most famous for his mass-energy equation (E=mc2), derived from his 1905 paper on Special Relativity. This principle of mass-energy equivalence led to, among other things, nuclear fission and the atomic bomb. Einstein is also famous for his theories of Relativity, including his 1915 Theory of General Relativity. These theories replaced the Newtonian worldview and rewrote our concepts of gravity, space and time. Einstein also contributed to the theories of quantum physics, and was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize for Physics for his work on the photoelectric effect. He lived in the USA from 1933, first encouraging the atomic bomb project, and later campaigning for world peace

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the iconic face of Albert Einstein, a renowned German-Swiss-US physicist whose contributions to science revolutionized our understanding of the universe. With his disheveled white hair and thoughtful expression, Einstein's image has become synonymous with genius. Einstein is best known for his groundbreaking mass-energy equation, E=mc2, which emerged from his 1905 paper on Special Relativity. This revolutionary principle paved the way for significant scientific advancements such as nuclear fission and the development of atomic bombs. However, it was not only destructive power that defined Einstein's legacy; he also reshaped our comprehension of gravity, space, and time through his theories of General Relativity in 1915. Beyond these monumental achievements, Einstein made substantial contributions to quantum physics and received the prestigious Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921 for his work on the photoelectric effect. As an advocate for peace and nuclear disarmament later in life, he used his influence to campaign for global harmony. Captured within this artwork is not just a portrait but a symbol of human intellect and curiosity that transcends time. It serves as a reminder of how one individual can transform our understanding of the world around us through their relentless pursuit of knowledge.
