Banggai cardinalfish
Banggai cardinalfish (Pterapogon kauderni) swimming over a false fire urchin (Astropyga radiata). When first discovered this fish was only found off the island of Banggai in central-east Sulawesi, however due to escapees from the aquarium trade it is now also found in Lembeh Strait. It retreats amongst the sea urchins spines when threatened. It can grow to a length of 8 centimetres. Photographed in Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia
