Cassini spacecraft
Cassini spacecraft. Computer artwork of the Cassini spacecraft travelling away from Earth on its mission to Saturn. Cassini was launched in October 1997 and is expected to reach Saturn in July 2004. It will orbit Saturn for four years, studying the planet, its rings and its moons. Cassini is carrying the disc-shaped Huygens probe (orange) on its underside. In December 2004, the probe will separate from the orbiter and enter the atmosphere of Titan, one of Saturns moons. The Huygens probe is expected to transmit data from Titans surface for up to 30 minutes
