Gagarins return to Earth, 1961
Yuri Alekseyevich 9 March 1934 Ôé¼" 27 March 1968), Hero of the Soviet Union, was a Soviet cosmonaut. On 12 April 1961, he became the first human in outer space and the first to orbit the Earth. He received medals from around the world for his pioneering tour in space. On 12 April 1961, Gagarin became the first man to travel into space, launching to orbit aboard the Vostok 3KA-3 (Vostok 1).
During the early reentry phase Gagarin had some problems with his spacecraft. The service module did not correctly separate from the capsule. This caused some trumbling and higher Gs. Finally it separated and the reentry of Cedr came to a lucky and successful end.
The final phase of the flight was the ejection out of the capsule and a successful parachute landing
