Green turtle
Green turtle (Chelonia mydas) resting on rocks. In the background is a large school of barracuda (Sphyraena sp.). The green turtle can reach over 150 centimetres in length and weigh over 200 kilograms. It is exclusively herbivorous, feeding on aquatic plants. Like all reptiles it breathes air, and the females lay their eggs on land. Apart from this it is entirely aquatic. It inhabits tropical and subtropical coastal seas throughout the world. Photographed off Sipadan, Malaysia
