Konstantin Feoktistov, Soviet cosmonaut
Konstantin Petrovich Feoktistov (1926-2009), Russian-Soviet cosmonaut and engineer. Feoktistov worked under Sergei Korolev on the design of the Sputnik, Vostok, Voskhod and Soyux space capsules. In 1964 he was selected for cosmonaut training. He flew on the three-man Voskhod-1 mission of 12-13 October 1964, becoming the first civilian to fly in space. His health prevented any further space flights, however he eventually became lead designer for the Salyut and Mir space stations. Photographed in 1964
