Nikolai Nilolayevich Kovalev (b.1908) Russian-Soviet engineer. Kovalev was born at Poltava and studied at the Leningrad Engineering Institute. He specialised in the theory and design of turbines used in hydrodynamics and steam generators. Kovalev won the USSR State Prize in 1946 and 1950 and the Lenin Prize in 1959. Photographed in 1959
