Octopus hunting
Reef octopus (Octopus cyanea) hunting on a coral reef. It is using its arms to feel for small animals inside coral. This octopus is common in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. It feeds mainly on crustaceans. It can change the colour and texture of its skin to camouflage itself from predators and prey. It spends much of its time hiding in a den. Unusually for an octopus it is active by day, which has earned it the alternative name of the day octopus. Photographed in the Andaman Sea, Thailand
