Tyrannosaurus rex chevron bones

Tyrannosaurus rex bones. Fossilised Tyrannosaurus rex (T-rex) chevron bones (bones from the underside of the tail). These bones are part of a near complete T-rex skeleton being refurbished by Phil Fraley Productions, USA. The dinosaur skeleton is taken apart, bone by bone, and, after renovation and refurbishment, will be re-mounted as a new display at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. The original T-rex exhibit was mounted over 100 years ago in a posture that is now thought to be incorrect. The new display will feature the T rex skeleton posed as if fighting over a fresh kill. Photographed in 2007

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the fossilized chevron bones of a Tyrannosaurus rex, part of a near complete skeleton currently undergoing refurbishment by Phil Fraley Productions in the United States. The renowned dinosaur skeleton is meticulously disassembled bone by bone before being renovated and restored to its former glory. Once completed, it will be re-mounted as an exciting new exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. The original T-rex display at the museum was mounted over a century ago but recent discoveries have revealed that its posture was inaccurately portrayed. The upcoming exhibit aims to rectify this mistake by presenting the fearsome predator in a dynamic pose, seemingly engaged in combat over a fresh kill. Photographed in 2007, this image captures not only the ancient bones themselves but also offers us a glimpse into the fascinating world of paleontology. It serves as a reminder of our ongoing quest to uncover and understand Earth's prehistoric past. As we marvel at these fossilized remains, we are reminded of North America's rich paleontological history and how these incredible discoveries continue to captivate people from all walks of life. This photograph stands as testament to both our fascination with dinosaurs and our commitment to preserving their legacy for future generations.
