Tyrannosaurus rex renovation
Tyrannosaurus rex renovation. Technician welding metal support armature onto the foot of a fossilised Tyrannosaurus rex (T-rex). This dinosaur is being renovated at Phil Fraley Productions, USA. The dinosaur skeleton is taken apart, bone by bone, and, after renovation, will be re-mounted as a new display at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. The original T-rex exhibit was mounted over 100 years ago in a posture that is now thought to be incorrect. The new display will feature the T-rex skeleton posed as if fighting over a fresh kill. Photographed in 2007

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we witness the meticulous renovation of a Tyrannosaurus rex at Phil Fraley Productions in the United States. A skilled technician can be seen welding a sturdy metal support armature onto the foot of this fossilized T-rex, as part of its extensive refurbishment process. The dinosaur skeleton is being carefully disassembled bone by bone, with each piece undergoing necessary repairs and restoration before it is re-mounted for display at the prestigious Carnegie Museum of Natural History. This particular T-rex exhibit has stood for over a century but recent scientific advancements have revealed that its original posture was inaccurately depicted. With great attention to detail, the new display will showcase the mighty T-rex engaged in an intense battle over a fresh kill, capturing its ferocious nature and awe-inspiring power. The photograph was taken back in 2007 during these crucial stages of assembly within a palaeontology workshop. As we observe this scene unfold, it becomes evident that human ingenuity intertwines with prehistoric marvels to bring history to life. The Caucasian male welder diligently works on constructing the framework while surrounded by fossils and tools essential for such delicate work. This image serves as a testament to our ongoing fascination with dinosaurs and our commitment to preserving their legacy through meticulous research and renovation efforts.
