Waglers pit viper (Tropidolaemus wagleri). This snake is one of the most common pit vipers in Borneo. It is generally very docile but is capable of delivering a painful, if not fatal bite. It has a broad triangular head with a pit organ in front of each eye. The pit organs function in detecting heat given off by prey, which may be small mammals or birds.
