Founded in 1874 they can one of the oldest and most successful clubs in England, having won seven League titles, seven FA Cups and one European Cup. Aston Villa play their home games at Villa Park, which has a capacity of 42,785. The club's traditional kit colours are claret and blue with white shorts. They have a long-standing rivalry with Birmingham City as well as other local teams such as West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers. In recent years they have been competing for promotion back to the Premier League after being relegated from it in 2016. They currently play in the Championship league where they hope to gain promotion back to the top flight of English football soon.
