Lyon is a professional soccer team based in Lyon, France. Founded in 1950, the team plays in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football. The club has won seven Ligue 1 titles, five Coupe de France titles and three Trophée des Champions. One of only two French clubs to have won a major European title, having won the UEFA Champions League in 2001 and the UEFA Europa League in 2009 and 2020. The team has also been successful domestically with several domestic cup wins as well as reaching the semi-finals of both European competitions on multiple occasions. Lyon's home stadium is Groupama Stadium which holds over 59,000 spectators. The club's current manager is Rudi Garcia who was appointed in 2019 after Bruno Genesio left at the end of 2018/19 season.
