Tylosaurus attacks a Styxosaurus in Cetaceous waters
Tylosaurus attacks a Styxosaurus in Cetaceous waters. Tylosaurus was a North American Mosasaur, a sea reptile related to modern monitor lizards, that hunted the Western Interior Seaway throughout most of the late Cretaceous (89-72 million years ago). Among the largest Mosasaurs it can get as long as 50 feet. Styxosaurus is a long necked plesiosaur that grew up to 50 feet long, with nearly half that length being neck, they were not as heavily built as mosasaurs and would sometimes end up as a Tylosaurs prey

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we are transported back to the prehistoric era, where a thrilling battle unfolds in the depths of Cretaceous waters. The image depicts a fierce encounter between two ancient marine giants - the Tylosaurus and the Styxosaurus. Tylosaurus, a colossal North American Mosasaur measuring up to 50 feet long, emerges as an apex predator of its time. With its reptilian features reminiscent of modern monitor lizards, it prowls the Western Interior Seaway with unmatched ferocity. In this moment frozen in time, it lunges towards its prey - the Styxosaurus. Styxosaurus is an awe-inspiring creature itself; a long-necked plesiosaur stretching up to 50 feet in length. Its slender build contrasts with that of mosasaurs like Tylosaurus but does not diminish its vulnerability. Unfortunately for this particular Styxosaurus snowii, it has found itself at the mercy of Tylosaurus' insatiable appetite. The digitally generated illustration showcases intricate details and vibrant colors that bring these extinct species back to life. As waves crash around them and clouds loom overhead, we witness nature's raw power unfolding beneath the surface. This mesmerizing artwork serves as a reminder of Earth's rich history and evolution over millions of years. It highlights both the beauty and brutality that existed within our planet's past while igniting our curiosity about these magnificent creatures from another world.
