Fred Perry and H W Austin, Britains leading tennis playes, were both defeated in the tournament between the International Clubs of Great Britain and France at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris.
Perry was defeated by Christian Boussus, the French champion, 6 - 4, 6 - 8, 6 - 2 and Austin fell before Bernard Destremeau in two sets 8 - 6, 6 - 2.
