Longmoor is the home of trasnsportaion and it is there that officers and men are trained to build and operate railways and acquainted with movement control generally.
Picture shows: Three " old-timers" who at some time during their army careers in the R.Es served at Longmoore, listened to some up-to-date information being given to some young visitors by the Royal engineers crew of a modern engine at the " at home" today. Now members of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, the three pensioners are (L to R), Mr H Whiteside, Mr Edward Grey, Mr William Whittear, all of the Leatherheads detachment of the Royal Hospital.
