Two wings of country mansion destroyed by fire. Mr Edward Faulkner, the head gardner

Two wings of country mansion destroyed by fire.
Mr Edward Faulkner, the head gardner, is the hero of a fire which destroyed two wings of Landhurst, a large country house occupied by Mr and Mrs Godfrey Williams at Hartfield, Sussex.
Mr Faulkner saved the life of Police constable Ducie, who was overcome by smoke when searching the blazing servants quarters. Only a second after Mr Faulkner had dragged the officer through the door, the roof collapsed and the whole of that part of the building became a furnace.
Photo shows, the burnt out interiorof the building.
