Supermarine Spitfire Collection

The Supermarine Spitfire is an iconic British fighter aircraft that was used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied forces during World War II. It was designed by R.J. Mitchell in 1936 and first flew in 1938, with production continuing until 1948. The Spitfire was renowned for its speed, maneuverability, and agility; it could out-turn any of its opponents in a dogfight and could reach speeds of up to 370 mph (595 km/h). Its armament included eight. 303 Browning machine guns or four 20mm Hispano cannons, making it a formidable opponent in air combat. The Spitfire also served as a reconnaissance aircraft and fighter-bomber during the war, playing an important role in the Battle of Britain and other engagements throughout Europe. Over 20,000 were built during its production run, making it one of the most successful fighters ever produced.
