Exmoor Pony Collection

The Exmoor Pony is a breed of horse native to the British Isles, and is a small, hardy pony with a thick coat and long mane and tail and has been used for centuries as a working animal, primarily in agriculture. The Exmoor Pony is an endangered species, with only around 1,500 individuals remaining in the wild. The breed has been used for riding, driving and trekking activities as well as conservation grazing on heathland areas and are popular show ponies due to their good looks and temperament. The Exmoor Pony Society was established in 1921 to help conserve the breed by promoting responsible ownership and breeding practices. Today this society works closely with local authorities to ensure that these ponies are protected from poaching or other forms of exploitation while still being able to enjoy their natural habitat on Exmoor National Park in Devon, England.
