False Trevally Collection

False trevally (Pseudocaranx dentex) is a species of fish found in the Indo-Pacific region, and is a member of the jack family, Carangidae. The false trevally has an elongated body with two dorsal fins and a forked tail. Its coloration ranges from silvery blue to greenish yellow, with dark spots on its sides and back and can grow up to 1 m in length and weigh up to 10 kg and can mainly found in shallow coastal waters, but they can also be found offshore near reefs or other structures where they feed on crustaceans, mollusks, small fishes, and planktonic organisms, and are highly prized by anglers as gamefish due to their size and strength when hooked and can also commercially important as food fish throughout much of their range due to their mild flavor and firm texture when cooked.
